The E-sports World Cup Foundation (EWCF) has announced and exhilarating milestone for the esports community a mind-blowing $70 Million prize pool for the Esports World Cup 2025, set to take place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, from July 7 to August 24,2025.
This colossal prize pool, marking a $10 Million increasment then the previous event 2024 the EWC as one of the most prestigious sporting events globally, elevating esports to new heights.
Ralf Reichert, CEO of Esports World Cup Foundation, emphasizes that the $70 Million reward is more than any financial reward; its about sustainable growth & creating long-term opportunities for players, clubs, organization, stakeholders. He says “It’s not just about having more money at stake, but to create opportunities for everyone at every level of the ecosystem.”
The Esports World Cup 2025 Format: Bigger and Better
The E-sports World Cup 2025 is set to host 25 tournaments across 24 games, including exciting new additions such as Call of Duty Black Ops 6, Counter Strike 2, FC 25, Overwatch Champions, Rocket League, Valorant, League of Legends, Honor of Kings, Call of Duty Warzone, Free Fire, Street Fight, Dota 2, PUBG Mobile, PUBG PC, Chess, Fatal Fury, Teamfight Tactics, Tekken 8.
These games will be showcased in a cross-game competitive format unique to the EWC, where 2,000 elite e-sports players and 200 top clubs will compete for a life-changing prize pool.
The Thrill of Competition: Top Clubs and Players
The 2024 EWC was a spectacular event which drew 500 Million online viewers and 2.6 Million visitors to Riyadh’s Boulevard City.
The inaugural event saw Team Falcons dominate the leaderboard, earning a staggering $7 million in the Club Championship. CEO Mosaad Al-Dossary reflects on their victory, noting how the home crowd’s electric support fueled their determination to win. “The opportunity to compete in front of our home fans motivated us like never before,” he says.
Similarly, Team Liquid, securing second place in 2024, used their winnings to expand their Organization into new games like Chess, solidifying their presence in Southeast Asia and growing their philanthropic initiatives. Co-CEO Steve Arhancet shares their ambition for the 2025 event: “We believe this to be our year.”
The EWCF announced their 40 Top clubs joined the industry-leading EWCF Club Partner Program that will provide financial supports for clubs to expand their brand and global fan base.
